Do I need the expansion board with my purchase of a controller?
The expansion board is for ethernet connectivity for a more secure connection to your network or for using the 0-10V BMS terminal block. If you seek to use either of these connections, the expansion board will be a necessary accessory purchase for the 1-Channel and 2-Channel controllers. This feature is built into the 5-Channel controllers.
How does the expansion board fit?
The expansion board is molded to fit directly into a controller snugly with two screws to secure the board in place.
Does the expansion board require its own power source?
No, the expansion board fits into the controller and is fed power by the controller.
Can I utilize the app while using BMS or home automation?
No, the expansion board disables app usage and allows the BMS system to control the heater.
Is BMS connectivity compatible with other devices or sensors in my home or business?
The expansion board accepts a generic 0-10V signal which can then be configured within the building management system or home automation system.
Do I need to purchase the expansion board with Google Home or Amazon Alexa?
No, Google Home and Amazon Alexa have full integration and only requires the respective app to connect to the Bromic Smart-Heat App.
How do I activate BMS connection?
A blue jumper cable is included with the purchase of the expansion board. When connected properly, the jumper cable activates BMS and disables the app.
